Pops of Colors

I love the variety in our featured wedding today. There were a number of dramatic shots brought upon by the beach and seaside rock formations. But then, it was complemented by the playful and colorful details the wedding. The ceremony area was adorned by pink and green laces and lanterns. The bridesmaids wore an orange cocktail dress. And the flower all throughout the event were the beautiful colors of summer. But what really struck to me the most, is the amazing ivory lace wedding dress our bride wore. It was beautifully intricate and the beads were reminiscent of the beach waves. She truly was a glowing beach bride. Congratulations to the both of you, Ashley & Kevin!

Ashley & Kevin had family traveling from all over the world for their wedding, so naturally they decided a destination wedding would be the best option. Their wedding on the beach was GORGEOUS! The colors all popped and the ceremony decor was tropical and beautiful! Ashley wore her mother’s veil to incorporate a little piece of her mother’s outfit into her own. It was a beautiful cathedral length lace veil. Her mom was so surprised when she saw Ashley was wearing it!

With a ceremony right before sunset, the pictures afterwards were absolutely perfect! We had a gorgeous low laying glowing sun! & in the dry season in Costa Rica it gets so hot that random forest fires break out (but don’t worry they naturally are put out and everything grows lush and green in rainy season) we had a forest fire blazing in the background providing a lovely smoky haze in some of the shots! The reception got underway and they danced their hearts out!

Bride

I wanted a small destination wedding so only the people that really mattered would attend. It was still hard knowing that some of the VIP’s wouldn’t be able to make it. It was also my mom’s first vacation ever, so I wanted it to be really special for her. Everything came together relatively easy for the wedding. I chose the colour scheme only after the bridesmaids chose a dress that made them happy. We wanted it to be amazing, yet affordable. The few things that we splurged on were the appetizers, favours, and the photographers. We put out airmail style Costa Rican coffee favours on the tables, and fans on the chairs for our guests that read “Ash & Kev 4Ev”. The first concert that Kevin and I saw together was Ben Harper, so it seemed fitting that we chose the song “Forever” as our first dance. Our wedding day was perfect from start to finish. In the morning, Kevin and I went down to the beach and started our day with a couple’s massage. Getting ready after that was a blast! I had all off my closest friends as bridesmaids and my sister as the MOH.

I felt so lucky to have the love and support from all of my favourite people in one room. I surprised my mom when I came out of the room wearing her veil. Having my mom walk me down the aisle and giving me away to the man of my dreams made my wedding the best day of my life! Once we promised our “forever’s” to one another, Kevin and I couldn’t wait to kick off the party. We brought a loaded iPod full of music that all of our guests would enjoy. We had our ceremony on the beach, and the reception in the Sunset Lounge (a beautiful private room, with a grass roof, and a fresh ocean breeze). Very intimate.
