The wedding of Kelsey & Ryan was simply radiant and beautiful. And although beach settings usually give out that vibe, the couple’s choices in details plus their bright smiles added more to it. Also, the lovely accents in the orange and pink are very fitting as the color popped out nicely. We love the way the entourage’s outfits varied too! Ryan wore a white suit and black pants while his groomsmen wore black suit and white pants. The bridesmaid’s dresses, on the other hand, looked similar at one glance but they actually differ in cuts. These details are so subtle but they make for good variety. Congratulations Kelsey & Ryan!

What would you say, the overall story for this album?
The overall story of their entire day is a relaxed kind of love. Neither one of them sweat the small stuff and allowed themselves to really get swept up in the emotions of that day. Both are huge animal lovers and love the outdoors, so naturally getting married outdoors by the water fit them perfectly. Throughout this album, you get a chance to see their true excitement and passion for one another and those they love the most. It’s relaxing, fun, and emotional
What inspired the wedding day outfits?
Kelsey is a very classic girl, but with a very fun modern twist. They both love bright colors and with them being by the water, the navy blue beach, nautical theme was necessary and executed beautifully. Ryan kept it really clean and classic with him and his groomsmen in shades of blue and white. For the girls, with orange being one of Kelsey’s favorite colors, all the bridesmaids looked fun, bright and flirty. I loved the fact that each bridesmaids had a different dresses to match their personality
What was your favorite part of the day?
My favorite part of the day was the actual ceremony when they were reading their vows. There wasn’t a dry eye on the pier!!! Ryan may have read them from his phone, but his words were so heartfelt, we all felt the emotion (except for his brother in the background-who was amused by the rhymes!) As a newly-engaged photographer, seeing Kelsey break down was so beautiful to me! All I could do was imagine me doing the same thing on my wedding day. It was a beautiful moment that will always be with me as a photographer, a woman and a future bride.
Was there any Do it Yourself (DIY) projects? If so, can you describe them in detail?
Majority of their wedding was DIY and it definitely inspired me as a future bride!! Ryan put the cake together, while Kelsey put together the centerpieces for their tables! The bouquets were put together by Kelsey’s friend from work! She even made a pillow of the ticket from the hockey game Ryan proposed to her at! How creative!!
What were the highlights from the ceremony & reception?
Outside of Kelsey crying while Ryan was reading his vows, having the extra time to photograph them alone was definitely a highlight! Often times, there is very limited time to take bride and groom portraits, but being able to photograph them and their dogs Brinkley and Dart afterwards was SOOOOO much fun! At first I was a bit nervous to photograph the dogs next to her dress, but when Kelsey decided to go into the water with her dress, I knew we had gold! I also LOVED the fact that they had a food truck to serve their food! Tying into their relaxing personalities, a food truck was less hassle, equally delicious and very fitting for the ease of the reception.
Was there a theme for the ceremony and reception?
It was very much a family friendly event. The reception took place on the pier, which is where the ceremony took place and it fit right into their theme of beachy!! Beautiful starfishes, bright mini bouquets of flowers and burlap adorned the tables!! The plan was to engage in a casual gathering to celebrate their marriage and as the bride says “it was such a beautiful and fun site that we could not imagine having the reception anywhere else!”
