It’s A Shore Thing

Ever since she was a little girl, Katelin dreamed of getting married on the beach. Her middle name (and mother’s maiden name) is Shore and she has always felt a strong connection the the ocean. On April 3, 2016, Katelin’s dreams came true when she married her love, Joseph. Let’s take a look at their gallery below and I hope you agree with me that love indeed is a shore (pun intended) thing!

The Engagement

We’re happy to finally see Katelin and Joseph’s wedding photos. Their engagement has also been featured here at Beach Bride. Check out their engagementas well: Love Is At The Shore.

Extra Special Wedding Details

The venue. The couple said their vows in Amelia Island, Florida. Amelia Island is known for having some of the whitest sand on the east coast and is a special place for the couple. Katelin and Joseph’s ceremony was held at Sandcastles Beach which is part of the luxurious Omni Amelia Island Resort.

The ceremony. It was short and sweet and included an Irish knot tying tradition. Before the ceremony, the couple exchanged love letters and Katelin shared an emotional first look with her father.

The send off. The guests partied the night away and sent Katelin and Joseph off to their getaway golf cart (Amelia Island is very well-known for golf) with a sparkler exit.

The Photographer’s Advice

As a wedding photographer, I have a lot of advice that I can give couples. I think that the most important piece of advice that I can give is to allow room in your budget for a planner! Often times with couples who don’t, I’m put in the position of being a planner as well as photographer on the wedding day and it’s a stressful one! I am definitely not a planner so it’s really hard for me to try and be one and do my job to the best of my ability at the same time!

Another piece of advice that I give all my brides is to hire a really great hair and makeup artist. I don’t provide extensive retouching in my wedding packages. Obviously if there is something like a pimple or bruise, etc. I will remove it, but I don’t believe in making people into someone they are not. If you have an amazing makeup artist, he or she will be able to bring out your best features and make you look fabulous on your wedding day, without the help of Photoshop! Katelin hired Makeup by Paulina Perez for herself and her girls and they looked so gorgeous! Paulina and her team are the best in my opinion so I’m always super excited to work with them!
