Isla Del Sol offers such a beautiful backdrop for a wedding, overlooking the ocean and boat docks. Late in the day just before the sunset, the light just pours in behind the bride and groom offering such a romantic glow. Thomas and Samantha chose to say their vows in this setting and it couldn’t have been perfect for them. They are such a sweet couple with their love for each other so evident in the way they look at one another. Thomas and Sam – all the best to you and your life together on this special day and always!
As the bride shares,
Thomas and I knew we wanted a wedding on the water. We were living in Oklahoma at the time, but we both love the ocean, and our retirement dream is to live by the coast and buy a catamaran so we can sail the Caribbean together whenever we want. So when we visited the Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club, we knew it would be a perfect place to start the beginning of our lives together as husband and wife.
Extra Special Details
The first look. Thomas had tears in his eyes while watching his bride walk down the aisle in her amazing lace detail dress. I am so honored to have been the one to capture their perfect wedding day.Congratulations Samantha and Thomas!
The reception. It was just as lovely, with candles on every table and beautiful fresh flowers along with other accents to compliment the colors and feel of the day.
Something borrowed. The diamond Samantha wore around her neck was from my mom, and the handkerchief was her “something old”, given by her aunt. They both originally belonged to her beloved grandmother, who for sure was smiling in heaven on this day.
The DIY projects. The beautiful starfish raffia aisle decor, the adorable sand dollar place cards, and the nautically-inspired wine cork table number holders, were all handmade with love by the grooms’ mother.
Tips and Tricks from the Bride
Don’t stress! There is so much pressure you will put on yourselves to make the day perfect, and while Pinterest can be a helpful tool for inspiration, it can also drive you insane with the obsession of endless detail planning. Some of my favorite memories from the wedding were actually things that were completely unplanned! If you find yourself stressing, stop and remind yourself that this is really just one day of the rest of your lives together. And if things don’t go as planned, your guests will never know anyway!
