If your wedding theme will be beach or ocean-related but you won’t actually be on the beach, you can still pull it off. The details, if planned carefully, will all come together to create a beautiful beach style wedding. What is more beautiful than wavy, gorgeous beach hair? Here’s how to get that look without visiting the beach.
What you’ll need:
A straightener
Small rubber bands
Oil sheen (any brand)
Mousse (any brand)
The first thing you will want to do is wash your hair or simply wet it using a spray bottle. Apply mousse liberally to all of the areas of your hair. If your hair is wavy anyway, you might be able to get away with just scrunching it up with your fingers and letting it dry that way.
If your hair is very straight, you’ll want to braid it when it’s still just barely damp. Divide your hair into 4 to 8 sections and braid. If you have very fine hair, you can get away with 2 to 4 sections braided. Allow the hair to dry for several hours. While the hair is still braided, apply a pea sized amount of oil sheen to your palm, rub your palms together and spread it throughout the hair. You may need to do this a few times if you have a lot of hair or very coarse hair.
Next, you will take your straightener and slowly run it down each of the braids so they really absorb the heat. Allow them to cool completely and then remove the rubber bands and rake your fingers through the braids to loosen the strands. Voila – beautiful beach waves without visiting the beach! This looks perfect with a casual wedding dress, but you may want to try it a few times to perfect it.
