Although some photos may make you think that this is the wedding, I must burst that bubble because this is still just Amanda and Brian’s engagement shoot. This lovely couple love the beach and their photographer thought it would be a great idea to shoot something more casual and laid back. Amanda and Brian were definitely able to show their fun and carefree personalities in these beautiful photos. At the same time, the more formal shots give us a glimpse into the more romantic side — also a hint to how their wedding is going to be. Can’t wait to see photos of that one! But for the meantime, take a look at their fun time at the beach in the gallery below. Best wishes, Amanda and Brian!
The Album Story:
The beauty of love. Amanda and Brian are young and carefree. They love the beach and love being together, I wanted to show them in a casual and fun way to match their personalities.
The Location:
Amanda’s family has a second home in Seaside Park, NJ, so it’s a special place where her and her family and Brian spend a lot of time.
The Outfits:
They are a simple and casual couple. Jeans were obvious for part of the shoot and then she switched to a white gown just prior to her engagement party which took place after our session for a more romantic feel.
A Hint For the Wedding Day:
The wedding will definitely be much more elaborate and formal. That is why something more down to earth seemed appropriate for this shoot as the wedding will definitely be over the top. They chose a very exclusive mansion near the ocean for their reception site and I’m sure those photos will show a different side to the couple.
The Poses:
I’ve worked and known Amanda for years, so we already had that comfort level. They are not the type to be stressed over photos. I just told them to be themselves and probably did less posing on this shoot than normal. I wanted to see fun and romantic, nothing too formal. I wanted the photos to appear like I “just happened to be there” observing them. We did that for the most part.
