Here at beach bride, we’ve seen the many forms of the sea – from calm and blue, windy, and gray overcast. And we must say, this album’s version of the sea is probably one of the best . What did you want to portray in your engagement shoot?
I wanted to portray our relationship in an elegant but relaxed way. Also in a setting that is very natural to us where we would feel comfortable and at home.
Why did you choose the location?
We love the water. We spend a lot of time outside and especially by the ocean. The beach is someplace that we both love, and the scenery is just beautiful. We knew the beach plus a sunset was something that would end up
being great.
What inspired your outfits for the engagement session?
Our photographers actually helped a lot with our outfits. Norman got pictures the morning of the shoot and made the final selection since he knows better that us what would photograph well. (He even requested red lipstick if I
was comfortable with it) We chose clothes already in our closet since it is something we would normally wear and make the shoot feel less ‘posed’.
Do the photos give a hint on what will happen on their wedding day? How so?
Definitely! Simple elegance is something carrying on into our wedding theme. Also the lace dress in the engagement shoot is a nod to my lace dress on the wedding day.
How did you feel at ease with all the posed shooting?
Our photographers talked the entire time during the shoot. If we were ever a little uncomfortable because of onlookers, they made sure our focus was on the conversation we were having about anything from TV shows, to
food or our wedding plans. That made is so much easier for us to relax and just have fun. Getting along with the photographers really helps with relaxing and the photos really show that.
