Our featured couple today wanted to add some flair on their engagement shoot so they didn’t just stick with having the beach as their venue, they also had their session on a beautiful looking garden and a structurally quaint mansion. It made their whole album look both laid-back and a tad bit elegant. Plus, a little variety on your photos makes things more interesting. Anyway, congratulations Kim & Chris!

What did you want to portray in your engagement shoot?
A young happy couple in love.
Why did you choose the location?
The couple and I worked together at choosing a location. They liked the variety of the mansion, gardens, and beach all in one location.
What inspired your outfits for the engagement session?
I always recommend one dressy and one casual outfit for the session. In the end the couple chooses what they wear. Professional hair and makeup is always recommended which is what Kim chose to do.
How did you tell the couple to feel at ease with all the posed shootings?
I try to keep the couple at ease through the whole shoot by chatting, learning about how they met, joking around a lot, and taking breaks in between locations. There are no special tricks. I just encourage them to be themselves.
