The Thorpes: Barefoot And Married

Matt and Sara got married at the beach barefooted, which, for me, made it intimate and extra special. It is not only convenient walking through the sand, but I also read that bare feet symbolize being humble and real – two important things in a relationship. The wedding colored with teal and pink looked cheerful and sweet. And the bride looked gorgeous in her dress that was borrowed and altered from her sister. Talk about an awesome sisterhood! Congratulations Matt and Sara! Fate brought you together for a reason. Stay in love!

Album Story:

We met on a dating app and it by the Grace of God we found each other. We grew up in the same city but had never met. We fell madly in love and began creating our story. On October 18, 2014 we became one family. With our three little girls, we celebrated our union of becoming a family on one of our favorite beaches and vacation spots. We celebrated with our closest friends and family on this amazing day, and the scenery and the relaxed vibe of the wedding were perfect!

Wedding Outfits Inspiration:

Beachy sophistication was the theme! The bridesmaids and jr. bridesmaids wore flowy dresses that were the colors of the ocean. The men were sophisticated in their vest and pants, and it made the tone of the wedding more elegant. I wore my sister’s wedding dress and we had it altered to have a more beachy feel but it was an elegant satin fit and flare with a tulle train to match the flow of the beach. It was so special to use my sister’s dress as my “something borrowed”!

Favorite Part Of The Day:

My favorite part of the day was standing with my toes in the sand with the love of my life looking me in my eyes and asking me to be his forever. The whole day was perfect, and the reception was an absolute BLAST!

The Do-It-Yourself Projects:

I created a canvas that shared the details of our relationship with everyone. What we loved most about each other, what makes us laugh at each other, when we knew we loved each other, where our first date, first kiss, engagement and honeymoon sites were, our favorite movies, Bible verses, desserts, restaurants, and activities, etc. It was just an overview of “us” for our friends and family to enjoy.

The Highlights From The Ceremony & Reception:

The ceremony was at sunset and the weather was a gorgeous 70 degrees, and the sky was clear. There were three white panels in the back setting the scene for our ceremony. White benches and lanterns lining the aisle. There was a violinist playing beautiful music, and it all seemed so surreal. The ceremony was performed by my husband’s father and a lifelong friend of mine! We had our siblings and sister/brother inlaws and Matt’s best friend as our wedding party. The reception was in the backyard of the Villa Rosa home. It was gorgeous! Hung from the trees were cafe lights all across the back yard. The bride/groom table had an elegant gold table cloth and chandelier to add elegance to the back yard. The guest tables had mercury glass and flowers for decor. There was also a lot of candle light. Around the pool the caterers set up the buffet tables full of local seafood, and lots of yummy treats. We had mini cupcakes in many flavors for the guests to try as well as a photo booth where the photographer caught

The best part was my father was the DJ and we had a dance floor in the yard and once everyone had eaten we had personalized koozies in hand with our favorite beverages and that dance floor was hot all night and full of all of our friends and family. It was an absolute blast and a night we will never forget!

The Theme:

I described the theme as relaxed beach elegance. It was beautiful but in a very relaxed environment where everyone could enjoy themselves and let loose!

Memorable Moment:

The dancing at the reception and the gorgeous ceremony site!

Kacie Q Photography absolutely captured the fun and essence of our wedding day. Her skill and talent is phenomenal, and we will cherish our photos forever. It is the most important part of the day, and she perfectly documented our day for us!
