“You are my sun, my moon and all my stars”. This quote by E. Cummings perfectly depicts a love that any couple would strive for and so this quote became the inspiration for this shoot. Nothing is more romantic than gazing out at a starry night thinking about how vast, deep and constant true love is! Let’s take it form the photographer, Erica, as shares some special behind-the-shoot details!
Styled Shoot Details
We started off our day on a private yacht, continued it on the beach with a glorious sunset and ended the night under with a dance under the stars.
Do-It-Yourself Projects
As I was trying to find something fun and unique, I thought a pin wheel style program using a constellation design would be perfect! As the guests turn the wheel they are viewing the program as if they are aligning the stars . Each turn will show you the part of the ceremony.
The Pinwheel
Using a custom constellation designed in Photoshop as the base. I created two circles secured by a brad. Around the wheel I included the order of the ceremony (prelude, entrances, giving of the bride, etc.) As the guests turn the wheel they are viewing the program order as if they are aligning the stars.
Other DIY projects are the constellation matted print, custom orchid brass, hexagon bridal bouquet, unique groom floral brooch pin and the pinwheel constellation ceremony program.
The Photographer’s Advice
If I had to give any advice it would be to take the time to enjoy the entire process. If you don’t know exactly where to start, I always encourage to focus on and prioritize the elements of the day that are most important to you and start there. There are a lot of incredible inspiration boards out there, but I always encourage my couples to take those ideas and make them their own. Incorporate details that are unique to you as a couple, or maybe even your family’s history. This always helps to remind you of the reason why you’re planning this beautiful celebration.
