Beach weddings are beautiful and rustic décor works very well in the design elements. Burlap is super popular right now and is used for everything from making wreaths to wrapping gifts. If you’re a crafty bride (and even if you’re not), you can create beautiful burlap covered candle holders that put out a soft, romantic glow.
How It’s Done
Purchase inexpensive glass candle holders and 1-2 spools of burlap (depending upon feet). You’ll want to measure around the candle holder with the burlap and then cut lengths of burlap to fit around the candle holders.
Use a hot glue gun around the top edge of the candle holder and the bottom edge of the holder. Then, use it down the side of the candle holder to secure the sides of the burlap to the holder. This should attach the burlap to the candle holder easily and quickly.
Adding Embellishments
You can make the candle holders extra special by adding embellishments using your hot glue gun. Wrap raffia around the holder and tie it in a bow, stencil table numbers onto the burlap, or hot glue seashells, starfish or other beach décor onto the burlap.
This is a very simple craft but it creates a gorgeous look for a beach wedding. The great thing is that it’s a versatile design and once you’ve attached the burlap you can embellish it in a huge variety of ways.
